About Cranky Bear Design

My name is Max. I founded Cranky Bear Design in 2008, and started out doing pro bono work for nonprofit groups and charities.
I have designed websites for small businesses, authors and bloggers, and I have been webmaster at two large universities and one big-city tourist attraction. I’ve worked on a freelance or consulting basis to help improve existing websites, as well. When building new sites, I hand-code in XHTML and CSS, and work with the WordPress platform, a blogging and content management system that lets me focus on making you a great site and gives you the ability to update your site, draw an audience with a built-in blog, and extend the functionality of your site with thousands of free upgrades.
My print design experience includes book covers and layouts, political campaign materials, logos, brochures, posters, flyers, wedding programs and “save-the-date” postcards. I tend to work purely digitally, but I do incorporate hand-drawn elements into a design on occasion.
Have a project in mind like something mentioned above? Get in touch with me and I’ll hit it out of the park. If your project is something different, drop me a line—I love a challenge.
